Work starts on road linking CPEC Interchange, Karakoram Highway

Mansehra: Local Government Minister Akbar Ayub Khan performed the groundbreaking of a 3-kilometre-long road project that will link the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Interchange to Karakoram Highway, according to a news published on May 22. During the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister Khan said that the government is focusing on tourism promotion in Hazara and Malakand divisions. He said that the construction of this road project – which is being developed with PKR 690 million will link Hazara Expressway with Karakoram Highway and then with Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road. The local government minister also said that this road project will be a dual, modern carriageway. He stated that this connectivity project will facilitate over 5 million tourists visiting Kaghan valley of Mansehra district. He also hinted that the foundation stone of the PKR 1.75 billion Datta Road will also be laid soon, which will reduce the traffic congestion in the city. Furthermore, the district administration has also launched a door-to-door survey in Mansehra and its suburbs to learn about the housing situation and livelihood issues faced by the transgender community. Assistant Commissioner Sundus Arshad Malik revealed that the administration is resolved to address the housing issues of the transgender community on a priority basis.
