Pakistan to resume international flight operations starting April 5

Islamabad: The federal government has announced its decision to resume international flights gradually from April 5 – domestic flight operations to remain shut until further notice, a news source reported. Read: Bahria Town Islamabad, DHA Lahore launch disinfection drive to contain coronavirus spread As per the publication, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on National Security Division Moeed Yusuf revealed that some flights would be restarted from April 5, while the country strengthens its safety protocols. He said that future decisions would be taken according to the situation on the ground. Read: Four ration warehouses to provide food essentials to needy in Islamabad The National Coordination Committee decided on March 21 that Pakistan would suspend its international flight operations for 14 days (till April 4) to help curb the spreading of the novel coronavirus through new arrivals. The committee, however, allowed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to fly back its planes from foreign airports. Yusuf informed that the Pakistani passengers in international airports were either flown back into the country or accommodated in a foreign country with visas issued to them.
