Ban on new gas connections lifted

Islamabad: Chaired by Pakistan’s prime minister, a federal cabinet meeting lifted a six-year long ban on new gas connections, according to a news report. The ban was imposed in 2011 because of the gas shortage in the country. According to details, the ban has been lifted for both commercial and private use. The cabinet also approved gas connections for development schemes, including those from the real estate sector.
